Bert is a 1994 Q*bert clone by Swedish developer Ingemar Ragnemalm that swaps the arcade original's orange protagonist for a caricature of Swedish politician Bert Karlsson, hopping around an isometric pyramid of cubes and changing their colors while dodging adversaries.GameplayClassic Q*bert mechanics: jump diagonally from cube to cube on a pyramid, flip every tile to the target color to clear the stage, and avoid enemies that chase you across the same grid.Satirical ThemeThe author recasts the cast with Swedish political figures, including Bert Karlsson and Social Democrat figure Ingvar Karlsson, with a tongue-in-cheek note comparing Bert to Dan Quayle for non-Swedish players.Author and CompatibilityWritten by Ingemar Ragnemalm, a prolific Mac shareware game author.
