MegaSimpsonHomer is a 1996 shareware action-adventure by Stewart Smith and MegaTime in which Homer Simpson roams a top-down world eating donuts and demolishing nuclear power plants. Built on the Duck Quest engine and seasoned with TV show audio, version 1.2 ran on tiny 9-inch Macs for a five-dollar registration.PremiseYou play Homer with a single non-violent objective: gobble every donut you can find while shutting down a string of nuclear power plants. Each level ends when Homer reaches a smiley icon, which advances him deeper into the map and bumps his skill level.Engine and LookThe game reuses the Duck Quest engine, which gives it a tile-based top-down view sized for the original compact Macintosh screen.
