AboutRider-Waite TarotWorks Deck 1.3 is a deck plug-in by Simon Poisson for the freeware TarotWorks program (2001), distributed alongside it on Info-Mac and Macintosh Garden. It is not a stand-alone application: it drops gorgeous, full-sized scans of the canonical Rider-Waite tarot deck into TarotWorks so readings display and print real card art instead of the base program's generic icons. What the plug-in addsOnce installed, the deck takes over the reading view: every spread, single-card draw, and Tree of Life overlay shows the actual Rider-Waite illustrations by Pamela Colman Smith. You can also browse the deck on its own, exploring any of the 78 cards outside of an active reading for study or reference.One-click installationThe package is built around a one-click installer that places the card images into TarotWorks' Tarot Plug-Ins folder. No configuration is required; the next time you open TarotWorks, the Rider-Waite imagery is the default deck. Interactive on-screen assistance walks first-time users through it.Requirements and pairingThe plug-in requires TarotWorks 1.3 (the host application is a separate, required download) and the same baseline: Mac OS 7.0 through 9.1, 8 MB RAM, 6 MB free disk, 68030 or faster processor, color monitor. Like its host, the deck is free of charge but explicitly not public domain. |
