HoldemMaster v1.1 is a demo of a Texas Hold'em poker simulator and analysis tool by Steven Loh of Primesoft. It models the most widely played poker variant in cardrooms and casinos and is pitched as a way to either improve real play or simply enjoy a quick game against smart computer opponents.How a Hand Plays OutEach hand asks the player to make the best five-card poker hand from seven cards, the two in hand and the five community cards dealt face up on the table. Four betting rounds give the choice of fold, call, bet, or raise as the action moves around the table.Smart OpponentsHoldemMaster supports up to nine computer-controlled players. Each opponent can be tuned through comprehensive strategy dialogs that set starting hand selections by table position and pot status, plus frequencies for check-raising, deception, and bluffing.Analysis and Practice ToolsThe program shows detailed pot odds for every hand and can list all possible hands implied by the current board. A click-and-drag feature lets the player stack the deck for study, and an auto-deal mode runs at roughly 25,000 hands per minute on a 50 MHz PowerMac. Report dialogs gather the resulting statistics for review.House Rules and LookGame limits, blinds, rake, toke, and seat counts are all configurable, and table colors and card backs can be customised.
