5k Poker Dice is the second Macintosh Garden listing of Gypsy King Software's long-running Poker Dice shareware - a duplicate node alongside the primary entry that almost certainly captures a different point release of the same Greg DeBacker title. Either build is a hybrid of five-dice Yahtzee-style play and standard poker hand ranking, packaged as a small Classic Mac shareware download and supported as keyware until Gypsy King's 2022 retirement.Core game and variantsEach round the player places a bet, shakes five dice in a cup and rolls up to three times, locking dice between throws to build the best poker hand they can - pair, two pair, three of a kind, straight, flush, full house, four of a kind, five of a kind. The computer then takes its own three rolls and the higher hand wins the pot. On top of base play the game ships several variants - Roll for Par, Acey Deucey, Early Bird, Wild Cards, Hearts, Face Off, Down the Line and Lots of Zingers - each tweaking scoring or wild-card rules.Madame Murghi and the bank5k Poker Dice carries Gypsy King's recurring fortune-teller character Madame Murghi: cross a high-score threshold and she appears with one of the program's roughly 1,000 fortunes, ranging from upbeat to deliberately sour or counter-cultural. A built-in bank also lets a player borrow against future winnings at variable daily interest, adding a small money-management layer to what is otherwise pure dice-and-poker play.Why two listings on the GardenThe Garden carries this title under both the original 5k Poker Dice node and a duplicate; in practice the two entries hold different shareware revisions of the same Gypsy King executable - one of the earlier 1.x mid-1990s releases and a later refreshed build with updated graphics, additional variants and the modern Madame Murghi voice set. The underlying gameplay, controls and registration flow are unchanged between them.
