About

Blackjack Deluxe is a 1995 shareware casino blackjack simulator for Classic Mac OS, developed by Ed Trice and published by Circumflex Software. Beyond a straightforward card-table interface, it models the more analytical side of the game, including card-counting theory and multi-deck shoe play.GameplayThe game presents a standard blackjack table where you bet, hit, stand, double, and split against a dealer. Hands play out using rules drawn from real casino practice, and the program tracks your bankroll across sessions.Counting and the ShoeWhat sets Blackjack Deluxe apart from simpler shareware card games is its emphasis on serious play mechanics. It implements the shoe (a multi-deck dealing device) and exposes counting concepts so players can practise card-counting strategies without the risk of a real casino.BackgroundAuthor Ed Trice was active in card- and game-theory circles, and Circumflex Software released several niche titles for hobbyists. Blackjack Deluxe survives today as a small but technically interesting entry in the Mac casino-game catalogue.
