Video Poker is a 1993 card and casino simulation for classic Macintosh systems by Glenn Seemann, published through Varcon Systems and MacSoft. Aimed at single-player desktop gamblers, it brings the familiar five-card draw poker machine to System 6 and later, complete with both monochrome and color variants tuned for 68k Macs.GameplayPlayers ante up against a virtual machine, hold or discard cards from an initial deal, and try to hit paying combinations on the redraw. Scoring follows standard Jacks-or-Better paytables typical of mid-1990s commercial video poker cabinets, with bet adjustment and credit tracking built in.Audio and VisualsThe release shipped in distinct black-and-white and color builds, accommodating compact Macs as well as color-capable models. Card art and chrome remain deliberately minimal so the title runs comfortably within the modest memory footprint of an early 1990s System 7 desktop.System and DistributionVideo Poker targets 68k Macintosh hardware running System 6.x through Mac OS 9.
