Square Wars Plus is a small Classic Mac shareware action-puzzle title in which the playfield is a grid of squares and the contest is for territory. The Plus edition expands an earlier release with extra modes or options layered onto the base mechanic of claiming and defending squares against an opponent.PremiseThe core loop pits the player against a computer or human rival in a fast contest to convert squares to their own color. Tactics turn on timing and on contesting the lines and corners that decide larger regions of the board.Mac presentationThe game uses the Mac's standard windowed interface with mouse-driven input, fitting the late 1990s shareware style.
