AboutSnack Attack is a children's roll-and-move board game for Macintosh from TJMW Enterprises, designed for ages 3 to 7. This entry is the version 1.1 update: a maintenance release that bundles bug fixes and ships as a fat binary so it runs natively on both 68k and PowerPC Macs. Gameplay is identical to the original 1.0 board-game release uploaded under a separate entry.Story and charactersFive friends are out for a picnic -- Hot Dog Harry, Sweet Chips (a pickle slice), Cheeseman, Gidget Grape, and Bugaloo (a bug). Just before the meal, The Evil Burger Kong, who has a particular thing for pickles, swings by and kidnaps Sweet Chips. The remaining four players race up the board to rescue her.GameplayOne to four players, human or computer, take turns rolling and moving toward the top of the screen. All input is via single mouse clicks on on-screen pictures or the spacebar, and every dialog box is read aloud, so the game is fully usable by pre-readers. Any seat can be filled by the computer, allowing solo play. What's new in 1.1Version 1.1 is a bug-fix release that recompiles the game as a fat binary (running natively on both 68k and PowerPC). Content, story, and rules are unchanged from 1.0. The contact email shifted from gepetto@tjmw.com to tmoyer@vol.com between the two uploads.System requirements and licensingSnack Attack 1.1 requires a 68040 or better Macintosh running System 7 or later, a 640x480 (or larger) display, 256-color mode, and at least 5 MB of free RAM. It is shareware: 30 days to evaluate, $12 to register. Both uploads in the archive ship from TJMW Enterprises, LLC. Other Versions |
