About

Tri-Tac-Toe is a Classic Macintosh take on tic-tac-toe by Seth Tabberer, originally submitted to Info-Mac in 1994 on Tabberer's behalf by Scott Feneley. The game keeps the familiar three-in-a-row rules but replaces flat X and O glyphs with three-dimensional rendered shapes on a perspective board.3D twist on a classicThe board is drawn from a distinct perspective angle and the playing pieces are rendered as 3D shapes, producing a depth effect that distinguishes Tri-Tac-Toe from the usual paper-and-pencil tic-tac-toe layout.Two-player optionVersion 1.2 adds Human vs. Human play alongside the original modes, so two players can sit at the same Mac and trade turns rather than only facing the computer.Choose your pieceAlso new in 1.2, each player can choose their own piece from the available 3D shapes instead of being assigned a fixed set, giving the matchup a small element of personalization.Quality-of-life touchesThe 1.2 update introduces an on-screen indicator showing whose turn it is, removing a small but persistent annoyance of the original 1.0 release. The author explicitly invites inclusion of the game on any CD compilation.
