Squealer

AboutDoes your Mac make a squealing sound during startup? If you have a Performa or Power Macintosh 52xx/53xx/62xx/63xx series computer running Mac OS 8.1, this squealing occurs when the system volume is set to an even numbered value (2, 4, or 6). "Squealer" is an AppleScript applet which automatically sets your volume to an odd number (3) to avoid the problem. Simply put "Squealer" into your Shutdown Items folder (which is inside your System Folder) and you'll never have to suffer through that annoying squeal again. "Squealer" is freeware. Brian Kelley |
