The Red Queen is a small Control Panel compatible with both System 7.xx and System 6. It promises to speed up a slow network (i.e. Appletalk or Modem) in much the same way a modem with compression does -- by compressing the data thereby effecting faster throughput. A user will see the most dramatic speed increase with fast machines on a slow network but, as they way, mileage may vary depending on the kind of file and network load. I am not the author but am posting this with his permission. See the readme and other documentation for contact information. The Red Queen is shareware at $1 per machine (or 1% of $$$ saved by using it)!
