TicTacTom v1.0 is a small Tic Tac Toe program for the classic Macintosh, submitted to the Info-Mac archive by TomWalaka@aol.com. Unlike most Tic Tac Toe utilities of the era it supports two boards: the standard 3x3 grid and a 3D 4x4x4 variant in the spirit of Qubic, giving it a little more depth than the usual one-screen novelty.ModesThe program offers both classic 3x3 Tic Tac Toe and a 4x4x4 three-dimensional variant. The 3D mode lets a row run through any of the four stacked layers, including diagonals across the cube.System requirementsThe author lists a Macintosh 680x0 or Power Mac running System 7 or later ("I think") with around 440 KB of free RAM. The compact footprint reflects the program's mid-1990s shareware origins.DistributionTicTacTom ships as the BinHex archive tic-tac-tom-10.hqx in the Info-Mac game directory and unpacks with BinHex 4.0 or Stuffit Expander.
